      <description>
       We tried not taking
the pepcid again and I
was braver this time
*
I’m almost afraid
to say out loud that he has
been sleeping through the night
*
I might be ready
to think about work again
Hmm, am I brainwashed?
*
Even day to day
he gains new skills like crazy
back scooting baby
*
To spend so much time
with him that I’m able to
read his needs is wild
*
Strong head, back, and legs
baby seems to want to stand
more than anything
*
I reached that bad point
where you understand shaking
then he cuddled me
*
For me postpartum
psychosis is frequently
feeling bugs on skin
*
He looks like me! me
in that one picture grinning
we have the same ears
*
When he has a burp
he rears up with his arms out
like Jesus on the cross

My mom is in town so I spent less time on these this week!
For one day we tried
to skip taking the reflux meds
but I am too scared
*
He has made great strides
in reaching and grabbing, plus
now he “talks” a lot
*
I have decided
the lovevery play gym sucks
he likes the real world
*
At the postpartum
discussion he slept soundly
off in his stroller

      <description>
       For Mothers’ Day we
built a shed for the stroller
and went on a walk
*
He has been waking
up only once in the night.
Don’t jinx it, Silvie
*
Is it possible
that we are both getting sick?
His cry is like a bark
*
The dreaded late day
nap, the eternal question
to wake him or not
*
Instead of grandma
we now call my mom Lala
Lala’s here! She’s here!
*
He might be learning
to reach, straining his limp arms
and they barely move
*
Mommy and Daddy
are sick but baby is not
we are like zombies
*
It’s finally warm
I thought he’d like the outdoors
he doesn’t seem sure
*
While he falls asleep
a giant breathes heavily.
The shushing machine.

      <description>
       He’s now too big for
the car seat newborn insert
this caught me off guard
*
He’s newly social
pausing mid-meal to lean back
flirting, grin and coo
*
In his evening bliss
his eyes roll back in his head
totally relaxed
*
He finally found
his thumb, making our naptime
routine much smoother
*
I had to let him cry
for thirty minutes alone
while I quit my job
*
I just realized
I can no longer recall
the way labor felt

      <description>
In the dark of the night
he thrashed his body around
I left the room
*
I am working on
shortening the pre-nap bounce
my back needs a break
*
Like plant parenthood
the line between too much and
too little is thin
*
He was happy when
we rubbed noses together
or at least he smiled
*
In the blue sleep suit
he sleeps much more soundly than
the same one but white

      <description>
      A blissful four days
With good strong long naps for him
Me alive again
*
And then just of course
Disruption, mayhem, madness
Fifteen minute naps
*
He has been cleared of
Telescoping intestines
And hip dysplasia
*
Music class was fun!
I might be the only one
singing. Babies coo.
*
He got his two month shots
One Band-Aid on each leg
Screamed quite loud, then slept
